Making Deposits in Person is So 20th Century

Getting started with Remote Deposit is quick and easy. On a dedicated computer in your office, we will hook up a scanner, install the required software and walk you through the process. That’s it. You simply scan the original paper checks and then destroy them after 30 days. We accept and process the electronic check images just like we would paper checks. What’s more, you can make additional deposits throughout the day and you receive same day ledger credit for deposits received before 5:00 p.m. Central or 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Safety First

The security of your deposits is one of our prime concerns. To ensure safety, our Remote Deposit process includes numerous safeguards:

• Checks are totaled prior to scanning to provide a balancing check after the items are scanned
• Users log into the system using specific IDs and passwords
• A drop-down list of depository accounts prevents erroneous deposits into unauthorized accounts
• The MICR lines (magnetically encoded numbers along the bottom of checks) are verified to ensure that each captured image of the check passes a predefined image quality standard
• The system checks for duplicates of previously scanned checks
• Any unread or questionable items are presented to the user to verify
• When the entire deposit transaction is completed and balanced, the deposit is then encrypted and securely transmitted via the Internet to Superior Bank for processing
